Ash will return—again—for a second season of Ash Vs. Evil Dead
Ashley Williams is coming back—again. Yes, the big dummy who returned to the cabin where all his friends were brutally killed by Sumerian demons—with a new girlfriend, also named Linda, in tow—will return for a second season of Ash Vs. Evil Dead on Starz. The first season hasn’t even aired yet—the Sam Raimi-directed premiere airs this coming Saturday, October 31st—but according to Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik, “The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with season one.”
There’s no official confirmation as of yet, but it can be assumed that the second season will continue the half-hour, 10-episode format of the first. Bruce Campbell will be returning as the titular hero, as will co-star Lucy Lawless. Executive producers Rob Tapert, Raimi, and showrunner Craig DiGregorio will also be back for Ash’s continuing adventures battling Deadites across the upper Midwest. It’s also unclear at this time how the second season of the show will tie in with the long-rumored Evil Dead 4, or the oft-mentioned crossover between the original Evil Dead series and the 2013 remake, which apparently take place in the same universe.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead premieres this Saturday, Halloween night. The second season is expected to air sometime in late 2016.
