Aubrey Plaza has made a career—and a quite successful one, we might add—out of playing socially alienated weirdos, but she takes her outcast persona to new heights in the upcoming pitch-black stalker comedy Ingrid Goes West. Plaza stars as the title character, an emotionally unstable woman who, after a stint in a psychiatric hospital, moves to L.A. to get closer to the latest object of her obsession: a boho chic Instagram star named Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen). After stealing and then returning Taylor’s “lost” dog, Ingrid insinuates herself into Taylor’s picture-perfect life, a ruse that seems to work on everyone but aspiring actor Dan Pinto (O’Shea Jackson, Jr.).
Ingrid Goes West will begin stalking theaters on August 11.
