Bat For Lashes announces new album with (probably) NSFW cover, dramatic new video

Back in 2006, Bat For Lashes’ Natasha Khan made her debut as the somber-voiced songstress of the year. Lana del Rey may have usurped the crown of moody crooning in recent months, but Khan is about to give the “Video Games” singer a run for her money.

Bat For Lashes’ latest record, The Haunted Man, will be released Oct. 23 and comes complete with a cover shot by art-world darling Ryan McGinley featuring Khan clad in a whole lot of nothing. The first single off the album, “Laura,” recently hit the web, and comes accompanied by a slow, elegiac music video shot by Noel Paul. If “Laura” is a precursor for the sounds to come, expect them to be mellow and honeyed without ever becoming overly sweet.

“Laura” is available at all digital music stores today.
