Baz Luhrmann makes The Great Gatsby even greater in 3-D
After weeks of speculation, Baz Luhrmann has confirmed that his adaptation of The Great Gatsby will be in 3-D, for the nuance. The director confirmed that filming would begin in August, where his acting trio of Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan will relocate to Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia—where films such as The Matrix, the Star Wars prequels, and Luhrmann’s own Australia and Moulin Rouge! were shot—and recreate the glamour of 1920s New York there in immersive, three-dimensional, Luhrmannesque bombast, hopefully capturing Daisy’s sad lust for money by having swirling green dollars shooting out of her eyes or something.
