Beyoncé gives a regal Grammys performance

Leave it to Beyoncé—pregnant with twins or otherwise—to bring a level of elevated artistry to an awards show. During a routine night at the Grammys, she gave striking renditions of her songs “Love Drought” and “Sandcastles.” The performances were bookended by the poetry from Warsan Shire that featured in Lemonade, and opened with video art featuring her mother Tina and daughter Blue Ivy. She evoked imagery in her maternity photoshoot by Awol Erizku, all the while engaging with impressive stagecraft like a chair that tipped her backwards as she sang.
