Bill & Ted 3 is being overwhelmed by "the darkness," Keanu Reeves says

Perhaps explaining at last why he looks so sad, Keanu Reeves tells MTV that development on the long-rumored Bill & Ted 3 has entered a limbo—a purgatory from which there is no escape, a darkness that cannot be Melvined. Speaking with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz—who has been similarly condemned to a lifetime of petitioning Reeves with prayers for a Bill & Ted sequel, prayers for which there are no answers—Reeves sort-of-joked about the delay, “There's lots of subterfuge and conspiracy theories… It’s pretty dark out there.” Gazing into the abyss as though it were the grimmest of sandwiches, Reeves confirmed that, yes, they have a script and a will to live, but lamented, “There's darkness out there that's keeping it from happening…. It's that part of the story where it's looking grim. It's the dark period.”
