Billy Evans doesn't regret letting Nathan Fielder see everything

In a late-night AMA, You Can See Everything's supporting subject offers some thoughts on movies, Kendrick Lamar, and celebrating Nathan Fielder's birthday.

Billy Evans doesn't regret letting Nathan Fielder see everything

In less than a month, Billy Evans, the partner of Elizabeth Holmes, became one of the most infamous movie stars in recent memory. As the pseudo-villain of Nathan Fielder and Lance Openheim’s You Can See Everything, his behavior, decisions, and schlong have overtaken the national conversation. What motivates these people, and why do they act like that? Despite the title, the movie doesn’t offer an easy answer, as the film’s subjects consistently contradict themselves, watch webinars at 2x speed, and scramble eggs wrong.

But in a late-night AMA on X, using his real name—not hiding behind Holmes’ handle—Evans offered a peek behind the curtain and explained why he acted the way he did in the film. During the AMA, he claimed he’s seen “almost all of” Nathan Fielder’s work, and when asked if he regrets agreeing to the documentary, he answered, “Not at all.” In fact, they celebrated Fielder’s birthday “around the table in Del Mar with my family” and that the comedian skipped the Time 100 dinner, where he was named one of the most influential people of 2023, to do it.

But he also offered some reasoning behind some of the film’s most baffling moments, as well as some of his humanity left just outside the frame. He claimed the “Lasers” license plate belongs to an employee, thinks Kendrick Lamar is a “generational talent,” and that his sniffles in the movie’s second half were due to allergies. He wrote, “Solo parenting 2 toddlers, you are sick approx 75% of days. Allergies in Austin TX are no joke. I take Claritin daily. Much less sniffling.” As for cocaine, he’s “never been a fan.” He also offered his four favorite movies (The Fall, Alien, The Great Dictator, and Primary), denounced Ethan Klein, and said he understands “Who’s On First,” but when he asked Liz about it recently, “she still didn’t get it.”

Finally, he says that the biggest misconception with the film is that he “somehow control[s] Liz.” He wrote, “Anyone who actually knows her would find that idea hilarious. She’s fiercely independent, strongwilled [sic], and my best friend. We are partners in every sense. We challenge each other, disagree, and face the world together. Her closest friends are also some of my closest friends. If I ever mistreated her, they’d have my head.”

Of course, since this is Billy Evans, the partner of convicted Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmes, we’re talking about here, it’s fair to take all of this with a grain of salt. However, we do believe him when he admitted to loving William Hung, even though he spelled it “William Huang.”
