Britney Spears to guest star as Rogelio’s nemesis Britney Spears on Jane The Virgin

Britney Spears is set to guest star as herself in the fifth episode of the upcoming second season of Jane The Virgin, Variety reports. Spears made the announcement herself on Twitter on Tuesday, calling Jane The Virgin one of her favorite shows ever, because in addition to being a pop sensation, Spears also has good taste in television. Thanks to the casting news, we’re wondering which Britney hit each of the characters of Jane would choose at karaoke, and now we can’t stop thinking about Luisa singing “Womanizer” at Sin Rosetro.

Spears referred to her guest starring role, as a dream come true, and Jane showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman replied that it’s a dream come true for the writers as well. Lots of dreams are coming true, especially for Rogelio, who gets to face off with Spears, with whom, according to no one but himself, he has a rather toxic relationship. “We are so thrilled that Rogelio’s ‘nemesis’—Britney Spears—has agreed to appear on Jane The Virgin in episode 205,” Urman said in a statement. “Personally, after hearing about their long standing feud (from Rogelio’s point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears’ side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney.” If anyone gets to say the line “it’s Britney, bitch,” it better be Jaime Camil. Then all of our dreams will have truly come true.

In season one, Rogelio and Xiomara traveled to Las Vegas for a one-night show. Spears herself is currently in the midst of her Las Vegas residency, but according to her tweet, it sounds like she’ll be crossing paths with Rogelio at the Marbella. Previously, Spears made a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother and as herself in an episode of Glee. She also served as a judge on Fox’s The X Factor.

Jane The Virgin returns to the CW on October 12.
