Brooklyn becomes a war zone in this trailer for Dave Bautista’s Bushwick
There are very few things about this trailer for co-directors Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott’s Bushwick that don’t seem ridiculous, but that’s probably by design. The trailer starts with Pitch Perfect’s Brittany Snow having a good time in Brooklyn with a boyfriend/husband, and within seconds there are roving gangs of armed men and attack helicopters swooping up above. Luckily she meets Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Dave Bautista, who is already armed to the teeth, and together they start making their way out of the hipster war zone that Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood has become. Eventually, Snow hears a radio broadcast revealing that Texas has seceded from the Union and the government has declared martial law, which simply raises further questions—specifically “Why is Brooklyn a war zone when it has nothing to do with Texas?” and “How was Brittany Snow so oblivious to all of this that Bushwick could descend into chaos without her noticing?”
Hopefully the movie itself will explain some of that, but Bushwick will be in theaters and available through on-demand services on August 25.
