Cardi B to make theatrical debut in stripper revenge thriller with Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu

According to Entertainment Weekly, Cardi B has joined the cast of Hustlers, Lorene Scafaria’s ripped-from-the-headlines drama about the employees of a strip club banding together to steal some money and get some revenge on the men who wronged them. This will be Cardi B’s cinematic debut, though she did pop up in a Saturday Night Live sketch about a year ago, which is probably as much acting experience as anyone really needs. Also, EW notes that she’s been open about her experience as a real-life stripper before becoming a multi-record-breaking recording artist, which is actually going to be more helpful than a five-second cameo on SNL.

Hustlers will also star Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez, Lili Reinhart, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, and Mercedes Ruehl, with Mette Towley and Trace Lysette still in negotiations. Unfortunately, none of them are Cardi B, and we now have no choice but to think of this as “Cardi B’s Hustlers that they are all also in.”
