Cayetana embraces nervous energy on “Scott Get The Van, I’m Moving”

Cayetana’s backstory is the stuff that movies are made of, as its three members decided to pick up instruments and start a band without any one of them knowing how to play. The members of the Philadelphia trio were quick to assimilate to their roles in the band, and just as quickly Cayetana began finding itself. With both a three-song demo and two-song 7-inch allowing it to tour alongside bands such as Waxahatchee and The Menzingers, Cayetana quickly began touring the country, all the while prepping the release of its debut full-length. On September 9 Tiny Engines will release Nervous Like Me, and The A.V. Club is premiering “Scott Get The Van, I’m Moving,” a track that feels like Cayetana’s anxious approximation of the Denton, Texas garage-punk scene with its buzzing power chords and tight hi-hat strokes, while still fitting right in with the eclectic Philly scene that fostered it.

Pre-orders for Nervous Like Me are available now via Tiny Engines.
