CBS adds more procedurals, plus a comedy with a surprisingly decent cast
At a leisurely, deliberate pace befitting its audience, CBS has been slowly adding new shows to its fall lineup, seeing no reason to rush around all willy-nilly like certain younger networks just looking to break their necks. Today it finally addressed those two wasted hours of its week not currently filled with procedurals, picking up The 2-2 (formerly Rookies) from Robert De Niro’s production company—which concerns young police officers played by Adam Goldberg and Leelee Sobieski working the Manhattan crimes not currently being solved by all the nation’s other televised police officers—as well as the Poppy Montgomery-starring Unforgettable, which was previously called The Rememberer until the network realized that this was a joke title created specifically to make fun of CBS’ self-explanatory crime procedurals. (But they want to make the show anyway, so who’s laughing now?)
