Chance The Rapper announces tour dates and tourmates
Chicago-born-and-bred hip-hop sensation Chancelor Bennett, better known by his stage name Chance The Rapper, is taking to the road this fall in support of his much-ballyhooed self-released mixtape Coloring Book. The 23-year-old artist announced via Twitter last night that he will be joined on the tour by Francis And The Lights, who popped up on one of the new album’s stand-outs, “Summer Friends.” The New York-based R&B band—which is pretty much just comprised of idiosyncratic dancer Francis Farewell Starlite—has previously toured with Drake, MGMT, and Ke$ha. Once Chance’s Magnificent Coloring Book World Tour reaches Europe in November, the two musicians with “the”s in their names will be joined by Nigerian-British singer-songwriter Samm Henshaw and East London-centered hip-hop artist Jay Prince, Pitchfork reports.
Interestingly, Chance’s own Chicago South side music festival, Magnificent Coloring Day (featuring John Legend, Alicia Keys, and Lil Wayne, among many others) is scheduled right in the midst of his world tour.
