COMING ATTRACTIONS: Future films that time forgot edition
Two movies announced in today's Hollywood Reporter:
– In at least the most exciting sequel news since the announcement of Major League: Back To The Minors, Jet Li has been tapped to play the villain in the third Mummy film, which will be set in China and feature the famous terra-cotta warriors. No other announcements have been made regarding plot or casting, though the rumor is that the film will center on the 22-year-old son of Brendan Fraser's character, who—along with co-star Rachel Weisz—has yet to sign on to the project. (Wonder why?)
– The Norbit dream team of Eddie Murphy and director Brian Robbins will reunite for Starship Dave, about a human-shaped spaceship (Murphy) piloted by 100 human-looking, quarter-inch tall aliens. The ship's captain—also played by Murphy—falls in love with Elizabeth Banks' "hip, downtown artist," causing some (hilarious!) complications. Also on board are Gabrielle Union and The Office's Ed Helms. As of press time, Murphy's dual performance has yet to generate any Oscar buzz.
