The still uncast, unwritten Captain America has a director, and it's [drumroll]… Joe Johnston. Best known for helming Jumanji, Jurassic Park 3, and the A.V. Club beloved The Rocketeer, Johnston seems like a fine choice for the project.
Johnston's currently at work on the Benicio Del Toro-starring remake of The Wolf Man, a film once eyed by Brett Ratner. But don't worry about the perpetually employable Rush Hour auteur: He'll be heading up a reboot of Robert E. Howard's Conan character. Choosing the legendary Cimmerian over Beverly Hills Cop IV, Ratner will work from a script by Sahara screenwriters Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly, who are said to be incorporating some of Ratner's ideas into the screenplay. Yay?
