When Dafne Keen walked into an audition for Logan and saw fellow child actor Millie Bobby Brown, she immediately thought the Stranger Things star was a shoo-in for the role. In the latest episode of the podcast Inside Of You With Michael Rosenbaum, released today, Keen looked back on the audition process for the young mutant X-23 in the 2017 Marvel film Logan, starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Keen said that she began auditioning at 10, and was 11 when she booked the part. The actor said she was nervous when she eventually met Jackman for the screen test after about six auditions, but more than that, she was “so nervous about how much I liked the character, and I really cared about the audition, and I think as an actor, it’s really scary when you like an audition.” Keen recalled going into the audition thinking, “It’s gonna break me if I don’t book this role.” The stakes instantly became higher when she realized it was down to her and Brown, who she was already friendly with. “She’s so sweet. She was so lovely at the audition. I recall seeing her at the hotel, and I think we chatted a little bit. At that age, when you see another child, you’re like, ‘Yay, friends!'” Keen said.
