Brian Cox's serial killer gives Dexter Morgan some competition in Dexter: Resurrection season 2 trailer

Michael C. Hall’s Dexter Morgan is back to his usual serial-killer ways in the official trailer for season two of Dexter: Resurrection, but he’s got some new blood this time around. “This is hardly the life I imagined I’d have in my 50s,” the forensic blood-splatter analyst and vigilante serial killer laments as he goes about mundane tasks like getting an eye exam and working out at the gym. “A lifetime of blending in, it gets to you.” The trailer shows Dexter grappling with his place in the ecosystem, as young serial killers try to make a name for themselves and old ones refuse to be forgotten. Two of those new serial killers giving the Bay Harbor Butcher some competition for news headlines are the New York Ripper (played by Brian Cox, seemingly channeling the Joker and giving his best maniacal laugh) and the Five Borough Killer (Dan Stevens).

The official synopsis reads:

From Emmy-nominated showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, the second season of Dexter: Resurrection finds Dexter Morgan (Hall) caught between two killers — one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis. Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.

Dexter: Resurrection returns for season two on October 30 on Paramount+, only on the Premium Plan. You can watch the trailer below.
