Donald Trump, actual president, thought being president “would be easier”

Now here’s a fun, but also incredibly upsetting, exercise: Imagine what Donald Trump thought being the president would be like. He certainly didn’t picture it being a hard job. In fact, he tells Reuters that he thought his new gig would be “easier” than his old one of rich guy/businessman/TV star/amateur insulter. “I loved my previous life. I had so many things going,” he said. “This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier.” Trump seems struck by the realization that he’s not sitting on a throne pushing buttons that build walls and restrict human rights.

The article is accompanied by a photo taken yesterday of Trump looking forlornly out the Oval Office window as if he were a kid longing for the school day to be over, instead of the current president of the United States. During the interview, Trump also once again demonstrates his limited attention span and preoccupation with election results, straying from the topic of China’s president to talk about how he won back in November. He also bemoans the fact that he is no longer allowed to drive.
