Google apparently draws the line at letting Trump rename an ocean

In yet another attempt to rewrite long-established titles, President Donald Trump wanted to rename the Atlantic Ocean, but Google decided that was a bridge (or, rather, an ocean) too far. While appearing at a rally at Clemson University in South Carolina this week ahead of the midterm elections, Trump praised the U.S.’s “unbelievable” military and its blockage on the Strait of Hormuz (which, in his vain mind, is called the Trump Strait). That led to a tangent about his nonsensical goal of renaming bodies of water, because, apparently, there aren’t more pressing things to remedy. Trump said that he achieved his goals of changing the names of a gulf and a lake, and now rivers and oceans are his next victims. “I only like two oceans, the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean,” he said. “I’m not going to put either ‘Trump’ or ‘America’ on any other ocean but these two. So we seriously looked at the Atlantic Ocean and I called Google Maps.” Trump said he spoke to Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, about renaming the Atlantic Ocean. “I said, ‘Sundar, I’m thinking of the Atlantic Ocean. Can you handle it?'” Trump recalled. According to him, Pichai put his foot down, saying, “No, no, no. This time I’m not doing it. Oceans are different, sir. They cover, really, a lot of countries. Please don’t ask us to do that.”
