Double your Russell with the Escape From New York/Big Trouble In Little China comic

Two Kurt Russells in one story? No, it’s not a long-lost Disney reboot of The Parent Trap from a male point of view, but rather a new comic book that will team up two of Kurt with the good hair’s most iconic roles.

The six-issue Big Trouble In Little China/Escape From New York crossover event comes from BOOM! Studios. Written by Greg Pak and drawn by Daniel Bayliss, the story will feature China’s Jack Burton being whisked away to the dystopian future of New York’s 1997, arguably a more pleasant place to be than America in 2016. While in the Big Apple, Burton will shake the pillars of heaven with hard-nosed, one-eyed, criminal Snake Plissken, who, contrary to popular belief, is not dead.

BOOM! Studios released individual adaptations of the two John Carpenter properties earlier this year, and has the horror master’s blessing to team up the two American heroes. (The new comic appears be perfectly paired with either of Carpenter’s Lost Themes records.) While the cover art suggests the return of The Duke Of New York, The Porkchop Express, and David Lo Pan, knowing the boneheadedness of Burton and Plissken’s indignant attitude, it’ll probably be a few issues before these two are getting down together on some Six Demon Bag and listening to Elvis Presley records.

Big Trouble In New York (or perhaps Escape From Little China) will hit store shelves this October.
