The product list is light this week, though there are a few smaller titles of note, including the cult 1983 Aussie adventure flick BMX Bandits (starring a poodle-haired, teenage Nicole Kidman), and box set of Fernando Di Leo’s punchy, bloody Italian gangster pictures. And though it may not necessarily be “Academy Award winner” good, the boxing melodrama The Fighter does feature energetic direction from David O. Russell and vibrant performances from its cast. It’s no masterpiece, but it’s a well-constructed entertainment.
