A lot of significant DVD releases this week, top-lined by Coraline, animator Henry Selick’s brilliant adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s juvenile novel. (And yes, the 3D version is available on the disc, in a not-bad replication of the theatrical experience.) This is also a good week for vintage sitcoms (Lucille Ball’s mid-‘60s effort The Lucy Show) and primetime soaps (producer Aaron Spelling’s ‘80s hit Hotel), and the second installments of recent cult favorites (Pushing Daisies and Robot Chicken: Star Wars). Also this week: all three series of the one-of-a-kind British comedy The Mighty Boosh, which’ll be reviewed in full tomorrow.
Oh, and there’s a movie called Watchmen coming out today too. We understand that you may have some opinions about that.
