Emma Watson joins Tom Hanks’ other Dave Eggers adaptation

Despite having been something of an “it” novelist—or at least the Barnes & Noble end cap display equivalent of an “it’ novelist—in the 2000s, McSweeney’s founder Dave Eggers has never had any of his work adapted to film. (He has, however, done his share of screenwriting, collaborating on the scripts for Away We Go, Where The Wild Things Are, and Promised Land.) All of that is quickly changing, though, and oddly enough, it seems to be Tom Hanks who’s leading the way.
