Eric Stonestreet RSPVs "yes" to the Dexter: Resurrection

The resurrection of Dexter by the coward Paramount+ With Showtime continues assembling its latest Last Supper.

Eric Stonestreet will watch the famed serial killer Dexter emerge from his cave and ascend to TV heaven on Dexter: Resurrection, the upcoming sequel series to Showtime’s original hit. Per Deadline, Stonestreet has been cast in Dexter‘s latest Last Supper as Al, a Kansas City-based serial killer who will challenge Midwest’s reputation for being overly friendly and accommodating to outsiders. Instead, it will play into the less discussed reputation that the Midwest is populated chiefly by serial killers named Al. Stonestreet joins a murderer’s row of a cast, including Krystin Ritter and Neil Patrick Harris, rumored to play serial killers that Dexter will presumably hunt down and kill. The cast also includes Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, James Remar, Jack Alcott, David Zayas, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez.

The series follows the two previous Dexter reboots, still hoping to make up for the 2013 series finale that left many cold. Dexter: New Blood appeared in November 2021 with enough positivity to keep the Showtime meat train running. Dexter: Original Sin followed in 2024 and emerged as a streaming hit. Original Sin is to Dexter what Young Sheldon is to Big Bang Theory, following Young Dexter through his post-collegiate years and learning the ins and outs of being a homicidal maniac with a heart of gold from his father (Christian Slater). But where there is an Original Sin, there’s a Resurrection because that’s how Biblical titles work. We hope to loop back around to Dexter: Deuteronomy before Michael C. Hall retires.
