Exclusive DC preview: Wonder Woman goes to war in DC Bombshells #2
DC Bombshells has quickly become one of the most pleasant surprises in DC’s lineup, taking a ’40s pin-up-inspired concept and using it to create a captivating World War II-era story spotlighting DC’s female characters. The first issue teamed writer Marguerite Bennett with artist Marguerite Sauvage for an exciting start to the series, and while Sauvage steps away from the second issue, Bennett has a trio of strong artists to keep these stories visually engaging. Laura Braga joins Bennett to complete Wonder Woman’s origin, partnering Diana with the aquatic heroine Mera to protect Paradise Island from the evil forces gathering outside its borders, and Braga’s clean, bright style brings strong energy to these preview pages from this week’s DC Bombshells #2.
