Earlier this month, actor, comedian, and writer John Mulaney sat down with Mulaney writer and producer, comedian, and Tina Belcher voice Dan Mintz for a chat. The resulting gab was set to video, and The A.V. Club is premiering those clips below. The pair have a lot to talk about, including the relative success of Mulaney, the difference between an album and a live comedy special, and Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000 hour theory.
The pairing between the two has a pretty solid back-story, seeing as how the guys have both been friends for a long time and have written together on shows like Important Things With Demetri Martin. Mintz even interviewed Mulaney around the latter’s 2012 comedy special, New In Town, and so it only makes sense for Mulaney to return the favor around the release of Mintz’s new special, The Stranger.
