Fiona Apple cancels dates to attend to her dying dog, writes heart-rending letter to fans about it

Fiona Apple has canceled some of her upcoming tour dates because her dog is dying. The singer posted a four-page-long, hand-written letter on her Facebook explaining—in heart-rending, tear-inducing detail—the sad plight of her dog, Janet, who Apple says is her best friend, mother, daughter, and benefactor.

The whole thing’s incredibly sad, and while it’s not clear yet exactly what dates she’s canceling, at least some of her upcoming South American shows will definitely have to be rescheduled.
