First teaser trailer for Pixar’s emotion movie plays on Pixar-related emotions

Along with a handful of new details about the film, Entertainment Weekly has posted the first teaser trailer for Pixar’s Inside Out. And while the animated film promises to feature facets of the human mind never before seen on the big screen—“places like dream productions, where dreams are shot live every night in this massive Hollywood studio with a back lot, props, and costumes,” director Peter Docter told EW—the first 50 seconds of the teaser should look familiar. Playing to filmgoers’ own, not-voiced-by-Amy-Poehler senses of joy, the trailer matches each member of Inside Out’s cast of emotions—the aforementioned Joy, as well as Fear (Bill Hader), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Anger (Lewis Black), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith)—to a previous moment in Pixar history. Then it’s on to a quick character roll call, which does more than introduce the heroes of Inside Out—it also reacquaints viewers with another set of colorful cartoon characters with outrageous hair: Aerosmith. (Those familiar with Toys In The Attic and/or fake Simpsons cereals should be able to guess the soundtrack pick.) Inside Out debuts June 19, 2015.
