Every generation gets the National Treasure it deserves. While it remains to be seen if anything in this film will top Nicolas Cage’s declaration of intent to steal the Declaration of Independence, the next generation may just find theirs in Guy Ritchie’s Fountain Of Youth. This time, it’s John Krasinski as the passionate, optimistic dork gathering a ragtag team for a big adventure, but the tone of the hunt is largely the same. “There’s a power beyond any of our comprehension,” his character says in the film’s new trailer, released today by Apple TV+. “One story, five continents, dozens of cultures, over thousands of years.” Ritchie may as well have called it International Treasure.

No, the film’s actual title isn’t a metaphor. Krasinski’s character and his estranged sister (Natalie Portman) are hunting for the literal fountain of youth, a quest that will take them through a number of bobby trapped obstacles, into knife and gun fights with Eiza González and Arian Moayed respectively, to Stanley Tucci’s door for some awesome treasure hunting gibberish (“There’s a reason the fountain was hidden!”), and to the closet for at least one spiffy questing fedora.

“They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives… and possibly lead to immortality,” the film’s logline reads. The trailer also uses an instrumental version of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” which is pretty funny, if, for Krasinski and crew’s sake, hopefully not an outright spoiler.

Fountain Of Youth also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Laz Alonso, and Carmen Ejogo. Hunt for the film May 23 on Apple TV+.
