Russell Davies is writing the pilot with Torchwood’s original producing team making the Atlantic crossover as well. For non-Anglophiles or those without BBC America, Torchwood is about an underground alien investigations unit based in Cardiff, Wales; THR’s claim that it’s “like 24 with aliens” is spot on. The news report also speculates that John Barrowman, who plays horny Capt. Jack, might make the transition to American airwaves if the show is picked up.
