According to a press release, on inauguration day Fox News Media locked four people “in complete isolation in upstate New York, with no contact to the outside world — no phones, internet, television, or social media.” When they emerge, they’ll be quizzed in front of a live studio audience about what has happened under the Trump admin so far, while Gutfeld tries to trick them with fake headlines mixed in with the real ones. Gutfeld! regulars Kat Timpf and Jamie Lissow will serve as panelists, with a grand prize set at $50,000.
What Did I Miss? will consist of three episodes, airing nightly May 12 through May 14 on Fox Nation. In truth, this seems like a lot of effort for Fox News Media to go through for three measly episodes. (Will there be footage from the 100 days in isolation á la Big Brother?) It’s also an admission from the conservative-leaning network that it expected some real craziness in the first 100 days, craziness that would be unbelievable to the average American randomly isolated in upstate New York. A similar show about Joe Biden’s first 100 days would have presumably been too boring. But profiting off craziness is the Fox News bottom line, we guess.
“Truth can be stranger than fiction and who better to help isolated Americans catch up on the headlines they missed during an unprecedented news cycle than Greg Gutfeld,” Fox Nation president Lauren Petterson said in a statement. “We are excited for Fox Nation subscribers to have exclusive access to America’s most-watched late night host’s game show debut as he informs contestants about what really happened while they were completely off the grid and isolated from the outside world.”
“For these four contestants to learn what really happened while they were living in isolation, they’ll have to get through me first,” Gutfeld added. “Lucky them.”
