Fox’s X-Files revival will premiere at New York Comic-Con next month

After the premiere, David Duchovny and series creator Chris Carter will come on stage to do a Q&A moderated by Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani, who has a guest-starring role in the new episodes. Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are reprising their famous roles in the limited series, and other familiar actors will pop up including Dean Haglund as one of The Lone Gunmen, Mitch Pileggi as Skinner, Annabeth Gish as Agent Monica Reyes, and William B. Davis as The Smoking Man. The Americans’ Annet Mahendru and Community’s Joel McHale join Nanjiani in guest-starring roles, with McHale’s character said to be “a conservative talk show host who becomes an unlikely ally to Mulder.”

As most X-Files fans won’t see a return to the thick sexual tension between Mulder and Scully until January 24, 2016, it might be worth the price of a Comic-Con ticket just to see the debut and irritate the hell out of your friends for three and a half months by withholding knowledge of what’s really out there.
