Furious 7 just made $1 billion faster than any film in history
The BBC reports that Furious 7 has set a new record for the fastest film ever to make $1 billion at the global box office, which makes sense because going fast is half the point. (The other half is equal parts punching people and family.) Furious 7 crossed the $1 billion finish line in just 17 days, leaving previous-record holders The Avengers and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in the dust in this drag-racing metaphor we insist on extending. (Both of those films took a pathetic 19 days to make a billion dollars.)
