Gary Coleman R.I.P.

Multiple outlets are reporting that actor Gary Coleman has died at 42 following a brain hemorrhage. According to CNN, the actor had fallen ill Wednesday night at his home in Santaquin, Utah. Earlier today, reports surfaced he was on life support. (Sorry "brain expert" doctor who sent us a press release this morning offering expertise, we won't be seeking your insights.)

Coleman, of course, is best known as Arnold Jackson, the sass-talking child star of the sitcom Diff'rent Strokes from 1978 to 1986. Like so many child stars, he struggled later in life. According to CNN:

He sued his parents over mismanagement of his finances; though he won a $1.3 million settlement in 1993, he had to file for bankruptcy six years later. He was occasionally in the news for scuffles. He appeared on TV court shows and had a brief run for governor of California.

Coleman is survived by his estranged wife, Shannon Price, from whom he was seeking a divorce at the time of his death.
