God’s Not Dead production company launches its own distribution wing
Probably because other distributors were oppressing it by forcing it to interact with people of differing lifestyles and beliefs upon occasion, Deadline reports that Christian film company Pure Flix is launching its own theatrical distribution wing. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Pure Flix touts itself as the “No. 1 Christian movie producer” and is responsible for last year’s quality-defying hit God’s Not Dead, the marquee title in an extensive slate of films that includes what appears to be the sanctified version of K-9, called Dancer And The Dame.
The point of Pure Flix handling its theatrical distribution in-house is presumably not only to prevent any of its films from accidentally being screened at a gay wedding, but also to keep a larger percentage of the revenue from upcoming releases—like God’s Not Dead 2, which hits theaters on April 1, 2016—for itself. For as Jesus tells his disciples in Sorbo 19:3, “Suffer the profits, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the appearance fee for the Duck Dynasty people.”
