Obviously buoyed by the preemptive attention surrounding Game Change, the upcoming retelling of the 2008 election starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin, HBO has announced plans to move forward with another long-form political drama that will also get them lots of angry emails: a miniseries focused on former vice-president Dick Cheney’s “single-minded pursuit of enhanced power for the Presidency (that) was unprecedented in the nation's history,” according to producers. Also, the charisma—don’t forget the charisma. Former Six Feet Under and West Wing writer Rick Cleveland will adapt the script from Barton Gellmann’s Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency, which we believe details Cheney’s love of fly-fishing, as well as the Frontline documentary The Dark Side, which we believe details Cheney’s love of fly-fishing while using the fingers of his enemies as bait. But mostly, what we remember are the laughs.
