HBO orders eight episodes of what some are calling "Girls for gays"
HBO has ordered what some are calling a gay man’s version of Girls. The as-yet untitled series received an 8-episode order and stars Glee’s Jonathan Groff as the central protagonist. Groff’s character will be part of a group of gay men living (and, presumably) loving in San Francisco, which is much more glamorous than Pittsburgh, where Queer As Folk was located all those years ago. HBO says that the show explores “the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men,” so get ready for some Grindr references.
