Hear a new song from The Smith Street Band
Last fall, Australia’s The Smith Street Band released its debut for Side One Dummy Records, Throw Me In The River. As the band proved on its previous releases, it’s no slouch at offering up boisterous takes on pop-punk, so much so that the album wasn’t enough to contain its anthemic tracks. The A.V. Club is premiering a B-side from the album sessions, “Regular Sex,” which is being released on a 7-inch that was previously released as a Fest exclusive alongside the album’s lead single, “Surrender.” Pre-orders for both the vinyl release of Throw Me In The River and the ”Surrender” 7-inch are available now, and the band will be touring North America on a tour presented by A.V. Club this spring. Listen to “Regular Sex” below, and then check out all the dates for the band’s tour with Andrew Jackson Jihad. Prior to that, the band will be taking out another A.V. Undercover alum, PUP, on an Australian tour that starts this month.
