Here are the TV shows deemed worthy of a Peabody Award

The Peabody Awards—which is like the Emmys for people who think most television is a cultural wasteland—revealed its annual list of the TV shows that aren’t slowly contributing to our civilization’s decline. Among those deemed culturally significant: Justified, Sherlock, The Good Wife, Men Of A Certain Age, and a two-part episode of Degrassi focused on a transgender teen. The Peabodys also renewed its devotion to HBO, recognizing last year’s perennial winners Temple Grandin and The Pacific alongside the documentaries If God Is Willing And Da Creek Don't Rise and Magic And Bird: A Courtship Of Rivals, which made the cut with ESPN’s 30 For 30 series and two installments of American MastersLennonNYC and Elia Kazan: A Letter To Elia. The official awards ceremony will take place May 23, followed by a bonfire of CBS’ entire comedy lineup.
