Here’s what’s coming and going on Netflix in November
As the days grow shorter and the nights colder, Netflix’s monthly comings and goings take on a new significance as we—here in Chicago, anyway—will soon be looking for any excuse we can find not to venture out into the hellscape of black snow and frozen Cheetos bags that awaits outside our apartments. And although its November lineup is curiously light on high-profile feature films, the service is releasing several new original series—including With Bob And David (11/13), Marvel’s Jessica Jones (11/20), Azaiz Ansari’s sitcom Master Of None (11/6), and, uh, River (11/18)—next month. Also new this November will be season one of the prematurely canceled Cristela (11/16), the highly enjoyable documentary Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films (11/29), John Mulaney’s new comedy special The Comeback Kid (11/13), the Kurt Cobain docudrama Soaked In Bleach (11/15), and Home (11/25) and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (11/1) for the kiddies.
November’s goings unsurprisingly include Scream and Saws I-V, rendered as irrelevant as half-priced bags of candy corn in the post-Halloween season. Fargo, Three Kings, The Blues Brothers, Rudy, and Stand By Me will all also disappear on November 1, as will Batman & Robin, but that’s okay because all you really need from that movie is this supercut of Mr. Freeze puns anyway.
