Hugh Laurie is The Wanted Man

Hugh Laurie is taking the savant skills he learned for House to the world of prison breaking. The actor, who recently starred in Apple TV+’s Tehran, is set to lead a new crime thriller for the streamer called The Wanted Man, per The Hollywood Reporter

Hailing from George Kay (Hijack, Lupin), the show centers on Felix Carmichael (Laurie), the head of a London crime syndicate called The Capital. “The previously untouchable Felix is finally captured, but while being held in prison, he discovers that he was betrayed by someone close to him,” a synopsis reads. “As the traitor moves to dismantle his empire, Felix risks a daring escape in order to exact revenge, making him a wanted man once more.”

It will be thrilling to watch Laurie take on a new anti-hero role, but he won’t be doing it alone. The Wanted Man also stars Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, Gina McKee, Hazel Doupe, Elliott Heffernan, and Stephen Dillane.

While Laurie will always be known as Dr. House, he’s played a number of roles since the show wrapped in 2012. In addition to Tehran, he’s also appeared in Netflix’s All The Light We Cannot See, Max’s Avenue 5, Hulu’s Catch-22, and HBO’s Veep. Newton is best known for Westworld, and appeared in films like Crash, W. and Mission: Impossible 2. The show does not have a release date as of this writing, but we’ll presumably be able to watch Laurie evade the fuzz soon.
