James Cameron, having conquered the oceans, will now film three Avatar movies simultaneously

Last month, billionaire fishmonger James Cameron let it be known that he was done making non-Avatar movies, committing himself completely to saying "everything I need to say that I think needs to be said, in terms of the state of the world and what I think we need to be doing about it" within the ecological parables of Avatar, aided by the occasional documentary. "I’m in the Avatar business," Cameron added—and business is not only good, it's basically become its own industry, with Sigourney Weaver telling Showbiz411 that she'll spend an indefinite amount of her future with Cameron making the next three Avatar movies simultaneously, depending on exactly how many times her character is going to die and be reborn as a tree-jellyfish or whatever.

Of course, there's still no concrete information on exactly when Avatar 2, 3, or 4 will finally emerge from the rabbit hole of Cameron's endless post-production tinkering and be deemed suitably technologically complex to deliver their rather simple messages about not fucking up the planet—and producer Jon Landau recently admitted that the first two films were unlikely to meet their tentative, still pretty far off release dates of 2014 and 2015. But with Weaver saying they're finally scheduled to start filming this fall, it's possible that Avatar could maybe resume saving the planet by late 2015—or if it's too late for us, begin screening in the coral reef multiplexes of Cameron's undersea empire.
