Joe Jackson files another wrongful death suit against Michael Jackson's doctor
Joe Jackson, the late Michael Jackson’s father and No. 1 mourner, has filed another wrongful-death suit against Jackson’s physician Dr. Conrad Murray, accusing Murray of involuntary manslaughter for his alleged role in Jackson’s death. In the suit—previously dismissed by a federal judge, now filed in a California state court—Jackson claims that Murray wrongfully provided a “polypharmacy” of drugs to his son, including the anesthetic propofol, and later asked a security guard in the room where the pop singer died to clear it of all medication before police arrived. In addition to a possible four-years-maximum prison sentence for Murray, Jackson is also seeking “unspecified damages,” a financial compensation which should provide some iota of cold comfort when added to the estimated $275-plus million Jackson’s estate has earned since his death.
