John Early finally presents Toni Collette with a collage he made for her as a teenager

The A.V. Club’s own A.A. Dowd said that the upcoming horror movie Hereditary steps past being “scary” and becomes something closer to “emotional terrorism,” but the next episode of production company A24's podcast—featuring Hereditary star Toni Collette—seems like anything but. As teased in a clip released by A24 today, the episode features Collette being presented with a collage that comedian John Early made in honor of her birthday when was a “not-yet-openly gay 13-year-old.”

The clip is incredible, both because Collette is almost rendered speechless by the work of art and because the typically unflappable Early allows himself to seem surprisingly vulnerable, but the real highlight is the reveal at the end of what the collage looks like. It has clearly seen better days, but it definitely lives up to the hype.
