Josh Gad might play Roger Ebert to Will Ferrell’s Russ Meyer
This is what we know about Russ & Roger Go Beyond, the proposed movie about Russ Meyer and Roger Ebert’s adventures making Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls. One, Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons writer Christopher Cluess wrote it. Two, Will Ferrell will probably star in it. Three, it will almost certainly feature topless women. (Set your DVRs, 14-year-old boys who don’t know how to turn off Internet parental controls.)
Now we can add a fourth tentative piece to this still largely hypothetical puzzle (the project currently has producers, but no studio, attached) as The Wrap reports that Josh Gad is being considered for the part of Roger Ebert. This is also a hypothetical proposition, considering the “individual familiar with the project” in question says that Gad has yet to read the script for the film. But since Ebert’s first choice is sadly no longer available, Gad is one of the more likely candidates, especially if the rumor about Jonah Hill turning down the part turns out to be true. And even if this Gad thing works out, Russ & Roger Go Beyond still needs a director, so submit your breast-obsessed suggestions below.
