Kermit and Fozzie keep it gangsta, cover N.W.A.’s “Express Yourself”

It’s become a time-honored tradition to take audio from a rap song and plug it into the mouths of innocent puppets. Re-dubbed as Muppets With Attitude, Kermit and Fozzie are here to break it down, old-school style, with a cover of N.W.A.’s “Express Yourself.” To be fair, it’s just another in a long history of having the Muppets cover rap songs that so far have included tracks by The Beastie Boys, Biz Markie, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Notorious B.I.G., and Big Pun.

Animal Robot has put together this rather seamless interpretation of the N.W.A. classic, with some great footage easily selling the illusion of Kermit and Fozzie rapping about using profanity, smoking weed, and being true to oneself. It’s at once heartwarming (and oddly fitting, in the case of that last topic) to have these messages delivered by The Muppets.
