One Of Them Days director says "Hi, Felisha" to Friday sequel

Ice Cube will write and star in the long-awaited Last Friday, the fourth movie in the Saga of Craig.

One Of Them Days director says

Finally stepping up to reclaim the day from Rebecca Black, Hollywood has found a director willing to put Friday back on the calendar. Per The Hollywood Reporter, One Of Them Days director Lawrence Lamont will light up the long-overdue fourth Friday movie in the Chronicles of Craig, entitled Last Friday. As was the case in the last three movies, Ice Cube will write and star in the film, reprising the role of Craig, who will presumably teach a new generation of slackers to hang out on their stoop, smoke weed, and avoid paying Deebo.

Sadly, several of the original film’s supporting players, including Deebo actor Tiny “Zeus” Lister, Bernie Mac, who played Pastor Clever, and series stealer John Witherspoon, who starred as Craig’s father, Willie, have died since the series went dormant. No word yet on whether any of the remaining cast members, particularly the first film’s breakout star Chris Tucker, will return. Tucker did not appear in the two sequels and was functionally replaced by Mike Epps as Craig’s cousin Day-Day, who took over the best friend role in Next Friday and Friday After Next.

Meanwhile, Lamont is sticking to what he knows: Calendar-themed and SoCal-set stoner comedies. His 2025 movie, One Of Them Days, starring Keke Palmer and SZA, operated like an updated Friday, with our heroes attempting to push past the weed smoke and chaotic neighborhood characters to pay their rent. After the movie became a sleeper hit last winter, earning $50 million on a $11 million budget, Variety reported that its stars and creative team would return for a sequel. However, Two Of Them Days has yet to materialize.
