Learn English–the Schwarzenegger way!

Since we all like breezy, uncontroversial topics to chat about on a Friday afternoon: According to ABC News, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger told a group of Hispanic journalists that the best way for Mexican immigrants to learn English is to give up Spanish-language media. Or as he articulates it, "You've got to turn off the Spanish television set." Citing his own experience as an ESL kinda guy, Schwarzenegger also graciously admitted that his views sound "odd" and "politically incorrect."

Alex Nogales, president of the National Hispanic Media Coalition, commented, "I'm sitting shaking my head not believing that someone would be so naïve and out of it that he would say something like that," adding that Hispanic immigrants require Spanish-language media to "function in this society."
