LeBron James and Ron Funches are working on a sitcom about gentrification
LeBron James is bringing yet another television show to Cleveland—or, in this case, he’s at least bringing the setting of the show to Cleveland. Fresh off his CNBC show Cleveland Hustles, which follows groups of the city’s fledging entrepreneurs, James has gotten a script commitment from NBC for There Goes The Neighborhood, a half-hour, single-camera comedy that The Akron Beacon-Journal says “would follow the first white family to move into a ‘predominantly black, newly gentrifying neighborhood in Cleveland.” Ron Funches and Scrubs and Community’s Garrett Donovan and Neil Goldman will write and co-produce the show alongside Scrubs’ Bill Lawrence.
