Prime Video has released the latest trailer for season three of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power, featuring two minutes of bombastic, Jackson-infused tumult as Middle-earth spins even further into the growing darkness of war. “Rule Them All,” the trailer booms, as a choir’s portentous crooning goes nuts in that epic fantasy way that gets the blood pumping.
“I see the path to victory, so certain,” Sauron (Charlie Vickers) muses as his Orc forces gather at the cracks of Mount Doom. “I will take my place as the conqueror, a sorcerer… a king.” No doubt Sauron is feeling pretty good about his prospects of conquering the free peoples of Middle-earth, what with his new Nazgnagôl roaming the lands and provoking Elves, Dwarves, and Men alike, and his Orc army swelling to gargantuan (and no doubt very smelly) numbers. Set five years after the events of season two, it appears Sauron has been very busy indeed, and growing busier by the day. “We have work to do,” he says to his lackeys, which makes one remember when Christopher Lee said the very same thing as Saruman in those incredible Lord Of The Rings movies everyone likes so well. Rings Of Power, don’t be afraid to be yourself!
